Cynthia Javaras

Cynthia is originally from Princeton, MA. She attended undergrad at University of Virginia (Class of 2011) where she played varsity softball for 4 years. Before moving to Houston, I had the privilege of being involved with the Athletes in Action campus sports ministry (Campus Crusade for Christ) during my time in Virginia as a student, student leader, and as a staff member. I accepted Christ the summer after my freshmen year of college at Galveston Beach, Texas on July 10, 2008! Since then, I have fully embraced the joyful and abundant life Christ offers to us all. I deeply enjoy seeing people find that inner joy and grow in their faith!
She has always enjoyed drawing, cartooning, painting, and making funny short films. In the past few year, she has taken intro classes in watercolor, oil painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture. She enjoys working with materials and allowing the process to become part of the work. Art and the intent to create lies within each of us. I truly believe that everyone is gifted to create in some way, including but not limited to communication, comedy, painting, drawing, music, organizing, or giving etc. My experience this year serving at the Art Project Houston has expanded my view of art. The art of encouragement serves as a main way for me to receive love as well as love others. I don’t necessarily have to be in front of a canvas to create.
Life serves as a canvas for us each day, what are you creating today?
